I am 5'11 and 150 lb - I usually order a medium and the fit of the dress was fine but the length was about 5 inches too short for a maxi dress, the slit also comes up too high so I am thinking this dress is intended for a shorter torso - tall girls might consider sizing up to a large (not sure how the waist will fit though) - I really wanted to like it but I couldn't deal with the shortness
