I used these in Mexico on several breaks where the reef was a factor. I never once got cut or scratched by the reef. As much as I try to stay off the reef sometimes it cannot be avoided especially close to shore. These booties fit well, the adjustments are effective and make the fit excellent. The velcro holds very well and the little velcro piece on the side to hold the adjustable strap near the heel was brilliant and worked perfectly. They have good grip on the board and felt comfortable the entire time I wore them.

I use this not for surfing but when I race my Outrigger cone and SUP board and they work great don't retain any water and fit well but I would order a half size bigger then you normally do.
