Got this for winter surfing in New York. Used it for the first time in water around 50 degrees and it was great. The hood doesn't attach, but rather you put it on and the bib underneath tucks into your suit before you zip it up. After an hour in the water, I was still pretty warm (it was also mild out -- around 50 degrees and not windy), and the suit held up great. The cinch around the face on the hood is super tight, and has an elastic/plastic piece that sticks out and is kinda annoying, but I just tuck it in near my neck/ear. A chest-zip suit might hold up in colder water, but for 50-degree days, this suit is great. I wear a size 4 in this suit, but a 6 in Roxy, so I guess Billabong runs a bit big. Their size chart seemed accurate.
