The BILLABONG SUBMERSIBLE SHORTS are a great idea but there are some issues that keep this from being a 5-star short that can go from land to sea.
First, the fit is true to size and the shorts have belt loops (just incase). The fabric stretches as you move so you don't have to worry about rips or tears. And the fabric is lightweight so if you do go in the water, it should dry in no time flat.
The only issues I have is that there's no liner in these shorts. I guess you can go commando instead of wearing briefs or boxers, but I would've preferred a mesh liner. Wearing underwear feels like it would weigh you down if you get wet.
Also I didn't like that the front button is sewed on, above the fly. I though it was a snap button, which would've made it sturdier but it isn't.
I like that there's a zipper fly so when you have to take a leak, you don't have to pull your shorts all down like most trunks.
