I thought these would fit exactly like birdies, however they are longer and more roomy and baggier. If thats what you want you will get it. You can tell this is a quality garment soft soft soft fabric. Just did not fit how I wanted them too.

The 14" inseam makes you think they are gonna be higher on your legs, that's not the case. They sit about the same as a pair of 16" inseam on the thigh but ride alot lower in the waist.

These things look nice, and seem to have solid construction (seems and such), but there's no way you're surfing in them unless you want major rash in the nether-regions. The fit is tight and low-rise for boardshorts. They may be fashioned after Birdwells (as the description implies), but they aren't cut the same. They're made in USA, which is nice, but let's work on the cut guys.
