Founded and owned by Jeff Kelley, a Huntington Beach grom who started out making beach sandals out of inner tubes, his first commercial effort was a sandal constructed out of indoor-outdoor carpet. When Jeff introduced the sandal to his first retailer, the shop buyer asked, “Where’d you get the idea?” Jeff replied, “Hey, its outdoor carpet, just like my backyard.” The retailer said, “You’re not for real?” Well, he was.
