Koji Toyoda was born in Osaka, Japan. He first started surfing at age 15. Ever Since , he has had a fascination with surf culture and lifestyle. In 1996 Koji started a line of modern surf wear called palm graphics to display his art which can be found at Beams in Japan. His whimsical style often bridges surf images and classic Japanese icons with an underlying message about peace and the environment.
Harry Daily, aka Harry the Hat or Sketch Holiday is a man of many names and many hats. Hailing from San Diego, Harry has developed a style reminiscent of the European Art Nouveau. His travels have taken him to Australia, Japan, New York, France and England and have greatly influenced his work. Harry is a true free spirit with a deep passion for surfing, life and art.
Julie Goldstein grew up surfing in Long Beach Island, New Jersey. Well known as a talented art teacher and print maker, Julie recently found a way to marry her passions for art and surfing by opening a hip surf shop with her husband called Pine. This a collage of woodcut prints that create a window into the urban surf life in the Northeast.
Scott Richards lives, plays and makes art in Orange County, California. He's the senior art director for Quiksilver, and in his spare time (what little he has) he surfs with his kids and creates paintings about surf culture. Much of his work incorporates print making and stencils. This piece is called Blackball. It was originally a screen print for The Happening and has now become the first t-shirt for The Surf Gallery.
