World Ocean’s Day – June 8 – is a growing global commemoration of the beauty of our shared ocean, and an important day for S’well, as it serves as a reminder of the ways we can help protect and conserve our world’s precious body of water by minimizing single-use plastic consumption. In fact, our goal is to help displace 100 million bottles by 2020 through the Million Bottle Project.
With more than 8 million tons of plastic entering oceans from land each year, World Ocean’s Day offers an important time to reflect on what we can do as individuals and organizations to bring greater awareness to helping stunt plastic pollution in our oceans.
S’well is kicking-off World Ocean’s Day activities at the following conferences and events to help share more about our Million Bottle Project sustainability initiative. Be sure to stop by and celebrate World Ocean’s Day with S’well if you’re attending:
- First up, Sustainable Brands – a global community of thought leaders and businesses shaping the future of sustainability. As a corporate member and official sponsor of the summit, the team will be on the ground at Sustainable Brands Vancouver ’18 Annual Conference. From hosting a booth and providing hydration stations to speaking on a panel with other industry leaders, the brand will have an impactful presence at this year’s event.
- Back in New York, S’well will be participating in the Northside Festival (Brooklyn’s version of SXSW), where creatives and cultural trendsetters will gather for five days of music, innovation and impact-driven content. With a booth at the festival HQ on World Ocean’s Day and plenty of product for distribution, the team will be further educating and raising awareness of what attendees can do to #ReduceTheUse.
- Without missing beat, S’well will also be at the inaugural POPSUGAR Play/Ground Festival–a gathering that celebrates women from all walks of life with fitness, fashion and beauty events, to keynote panels with notable influencers. S’well will be providing products to select attendees to help them reduce their plastic consumption.
Let’s not forget what you can do, too.
