Is my food jar breakable?
The Glass+ Food Jar is made from high-quality, borosilicate glass with an insulated stainless steel sleeve. While the sleeve provides extra protection, we still urge you to treat it carefully and use caution. If your glass food jar breaks or cracks, dispose of it right away.
Does my food jar contain any plastic? What is it made from?
The Glass+ Food Jar is 100% plastic-free. The inner container is made from high-quality borosilicate glass, the insulated sleeve is made from 18/8, food-grade stainless steel, and the lid is made from 18/8 stainless steel and food-grade silicone.
Is my food jar insulated?
Yes, it is fully insulated. The outer stainless steel sleeve is designed with triple layer vacuum insulation to keep food colder or hotter for longer.
Can my food jar be used for hot food?
Yes, the food jar can be used for storing hot food, just make sure the lid is fully tightened after filling.
Is my food jar leakproof?
Yes, the Glass+ food jar is leakproof for mess-free packing and carrying, and the secure seal helps keep food fresh.
Can I put my food jar in the freezer?
The Glass+ Food Jar is freezer-safe when empty. Do not freeze with food or liquids inside.
Can I put my food jar in the microwave?
The outer stainless steel sleeve is not microwave safe, but the inner glass food jar can be microwaved.
What is the food jar lid made from?
The lid is made from 18/8 stainless steel with a removable food-grade silicone gasket for easy cleaning.
Does the stainless steel lid screw directly onto the glass?
Yes! Our plastic-free, stainless steel lid screws safely onto the glass, creating a leakproof seal with a food-grade silicone gasket. In our effort to eliminate plastic, we chose not to use plastic threads in the lid. You may notice some friction as the stainless steel lid closes against the glass, however it does not affect safety or performance and is a small trade-off for a cleaner, plastic-free design.
Is my food jar free from lead and BPA/BPS?
The Glass+ Food Jar and lid are free from lead, non-toxic, and BPA/BPS-free.
How do I clean my food jar?
The Glass+ Food Jar is fully dishwasher safe. To clean, simply twist the outer sleeve and gently separate it from the glass jar. Disassemble the lid by removing the silicone gasket. Place all parts in the dishwasher or hand wash with warm, soapy water. To reassemble, replace the silicone gasket first, ensuring the edges are fully pressed into the sides. Let it dry with the lid, gasket, and sleeve removed. Do not use cleaners containing bleach, chlorine, abrasives and/or other harsh chemicals.
Can I put my bottle in the dishwasher?
- The Glass Original Bottle is fully dishwasher safe, including the silicone sleeve and lid. For a deeper clean, we recommend hand washing with warm, soapy water and using our Bottle Brush to get into the small mouth opening. Let the bottle dry with the lid removed. Do not use cleaners containing bleach, chlorine, abrasives and/or other harsh chemicals.
Is the silicone sleeve removable?
It is not necessary to remove the silicone sleeve for dishwashing. If you need to remove the sleeve, carefully twist and pull it off.
Can I bring my bottle through airport security?
Yes, you can bring your bottle through airport security. Be sure to remove all liquids before bringing it through security.
