"The bowls I have purchased leak a black substance when washed. I have contacted the company and sent photo evidence. Apparently they don't refund directly, they make the consumer send back the products and pay for shipping before issuing a refund. I find this awful for a product that is defunct on their end. I'm unsure what this substance is that the bowls leak, but I hope it isn't hazardous for the consumers."

"I fell in love with my Salad Bowl but unfortunately my relationship with my Bowl is coming to an end. After 20-25 uses the outside wood finish is peeling off. I’m concerned that some of the finish can end up in my salad. 🥗"
"This salad bowl is incredibly versatile! I use it not just for salads, but also for Korean bibimbap, poke, and even noodle soups. (When I pack it for lunch, I just bring the broth in a thermos and pour it in when I'm ready to eat). It’s also super convenient for traveling. "Looks great but be careful because there’s a lot of stainless steel abrasive and it’s not easy to remove. Even after wiping it several times with oil, washing with dish soap, reapplying oil, and repeating with baking soda, it doesn’t come off. I haven’t tried all of Swell’s other products, but some didn’t have abrasives, and this one is almost impossible to remove. Too bad I got three of them and I can't return them."
