Introducing (RED) x S’well

Monday, June 5th, 2017

June 5th, 1981 marks the first official reporting of what will later become known as the AIDS epidemic. Since its discovery, 78 million people have become infected with HIV and 35 million have died from AIDS-related illnesses. Though significant progress has been made in the fight against HIV/AIDS, there are still roughly 37 million people living with HIV globally today.

(RED) was created by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006 to transform the collective power of consumers into a global force of critical, lifesaving aid. One hundred percent of all proceeds generated go directly to The Global Fund, which distributes the money to work on the ground in Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, and Zambia.

(RED) works with the world’s most iconic brands and organizations to develop (RED)-branded products and services, that, when purchased, trigger corporate giving to The Global Fund and S’well is excited to partner with (RED) to join their fight.

S’well recently had the opportunity to visit Kenya and see firsthand the work that (RED) is doing. Though an emotional journey, the team left with a sense of hope. Kenya has successfully halved the number of child deaths and nearly halved HIV prevalence in adults since 1990. However, there is still work to be done in preventing new HIV infections.

“We ask a very simple question at S’well: where can we have the greatest impact? Through our partnership with (RED), we’re able to support education, treatment and awareness-building efforts that help fight HIV/AIDS and truly transform lives,” said Sarah Kauss, Founder and CEO of S’well.

S’well is proud to contribute 20% of the retail price of every (PRODUCT)RED bottle to (RED)’s fight against AIDS. Shop the limited-edition (RED) x S’well products here.
